For the past seven years, Susan has led a team of highly motivated and talented professionals at Marathon Marina, in the heart of the Florida Keys.As a Kansas farmer’s daughter, Susan had no boating experience when she relocated to South Florida twenty-seven years ago. While working full-time as a legal administrator, Susan accepted a temporary part-time finance job at a marina. The job ended, but not before she was hooked on boating and life on the water. From then on, both personally and professionally, Susan kept moving away from suits and heels and closer to shorts and boat shoes.Following the direction that beckoned her, she eventually found her way to marina management.
Susan is a hands-on leader with a strong work ethic. She knows how to inspire others and create success.Susan thrives on all kinds of challenges. Her most recent projects include obtaining a $1.5 million dollar Boating Infrastructure Grant for partial funding of a transient floating dock and a state of the art, self-contained floating fuel dock with bath house. Two months after completing the project, Marathon Marina suffered great devastation from Hurricane Irma. ASAR | Safe Harbour Dry Stacks

Boat Drystack Storage
ASAR | Safe Harbour Dry Stacks is a subsidiary of GCM Contracting Solutions, offering complete turnkey construction and automation solutions specifically for the marine industry. Specializing in tilt-wall construction, ASAR | Safe Harbour Dry Stacks has been providing design-build construction services to the marine industry for more than 10 years. In 2011, Robert Brown began collaborating with an Austrian based company to co-develop the technology that would automate the storage and retrieval process for boats to make a faster, more reliable system, which would replace the traditional forklift/crane method. After years of discussions, meetings, and planning, ASAR was born. Automation is not new to the marine industry, however, a fully-automated process without a human operator and with the use of a stacker crane is. This advanced technology is specifically suited to handle the input and output of vessels, allowing you to store more boats in your marine facility, and provide a faster, more reliable storage system. Both the marina owner and the customer benefits from this specialized handling system by reducing the risk of environmental hazards, damage, and theft. ASAR offers superior results that will far surpass the needs and growth of your company. ASAR replaces a forklift or crane, which takes up more space, and is prone to operator error and slower delivery. Instead, ASAR safely hugs the hull of the boat and moves it on a track that gently slides both side-to-side and up-and-down. Superior to a forklift in every way, ASAR lifts at up to 3.5 miles per hour and drives 11.4 miles per hour, offering the redundancy of dual drive motors and dual lift motors. Furthermore, it takes the boat directly from the water all the way to its storage space, even cleaning it along the way via an optional vestibule washdown system.
